Church Staff

Each staff member at Lake Oswego UMC reflects our belief in open hearts, open doors and open minds.

There are also countless others who help make our church a warm and welcoming place.

Pastor Steve is excited to be serving this church where people are sincerely interested in welcoming all people and in meeting the needs of others. Steve says, “People in this fragmented society are looking for a place to connect – a place where they can feel nurtured, and a place where they can be part of a community that really makes a difference in the world. I truly believe that what people are looking for they can find right here.” Steve celebrates the diversity of people who make up this lively community of faith with its strong programs of music, youth, outreach and Christian education. Steve's strengths include preaching and teaching focused on sharing the Good News of Christ's love for all people.

Steve says, “Our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open. Come join us as we worship God, as we explore what it means to be faithful in today's world, and as we build honest relationships together in Christ."

As Christian Education Coordinator, Stacey ensures that all our churchgoers are spiritually enriched. She works with over 20 teachers who provide Sunday morning classes for ages three through adult. The age-appropriate curriculum inspires young minds to follow Jesus and prepares their hearts to serve God while keeping the children entertained. In the summer, she facilitates Vacation Bible School inviting children from the community. Stacey also helps coordinate adult education classes both on Sunday and weekday mornings as well as weekday evenings. Stacey believes that continuing to grow and learn in our faith journey is a vital part of spiritual life.

In her role as Youth Ministries Coordinator, Stacey recruits leadership and provides oversight for three youth groups for students from 4th through 12th grades: RAD (Radically Active Disciples) provides an opportunity for 4th through 6th graders to gather for both spiritual and social activities. The Junior and Senior High United Methodist Youth group meetings provide time for fellowship and lively discussions, which are centered on the concerns of today’s youth.
